Finland congratulates Al Gore for Nobel prize

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

Nobel Prize for Al GoreTarja Halonen, the Finnish president, said in a statement Friday she had sent a message of congratulation to Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for their being jointly awarded the Nobel peace prize.

The president said she was very pleased that the pioneering work had been recognised at such high a level.

“Well-being for mankind and nature go hand in hand. Sustainable development on a global scale can become a reality if we take true care of people and if we have a strong environmental awareness. There are positive signs of attitudes changing and of a stronger common will to act on climate issues”, President Halonen wrote to Mr Gore and Rajendra Pachauri, the chairman of the IPCC.

Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen (centre) said the Nobel committee had made a good choice.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the Danish prime minister, joined Mr Vanhanen in praising the award for pushing climate issues higher on the political agenda.

George and Condoleezza’s family values.

Friday, June 9th, 2006

bush01.gifI checked my calendar just to make sure that this is NOT 1st of April, and then I checked the internet to make sure that this is NOT the international day of pathetic jokes or the international day the press is bulls#%ing and then … I heard it again!

In a morning radio program that goes through news from all around the world and makes comments or interviews if possible people who are close to the events had the unbelievable. Laura Bush moved from the White House to a hotel nearby because she caught George with Condoleezza Rice!!! And I don’t mean she caught them talking in the oval office, she caught them with the pants down!!!

If this is not a joke is the news of the century, is the biggest joke ever. A week after all the speeches about family values? This is … I cannot stop laughing!

The truth is that lately I was a bit depressed but this …made my day. I cannot stop laughing. I checked the internet to find out if it is true but I didn’t find anything and the presenter of the radio show said that is going to come out in some papers tomorrow!!! God definitely has humor!

If somebody has seen anything or read something, please put a link here!!! I still cannot believe that George W. Bush and Condoleezza Rice made me laugh so much!

Israeli Palestinian confusion

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert says he is ready to negotiate peace with the Palestinians but not until Hamas rejects violence and recognizes Israel.

“I extend my hand in peace to Mahmoud Abbas, the elected president of the Palestinian Authority,” Mr. Olmert said in a keynote speech to the US Congress.

That was on BBC today and sorry but it doesn’t really make sense to me. The new Israeli prime minister who doesn’t recognize the new Palestinian administration and considers them as terrorists asks them to start talking about peace with him, after they recognize Israel and reject violence. And he’s doing that through the recognized Palestinian president who was part of Jaser Arafat’s organization that according the Israelis was the beginning of all the problems in Palestine. Are they a bit confused there or am I missing something?

1st of May

Monday, May 1st, 2006

Chicago, 1st of May 1886 Chicago, 1st of May 1886 It is really sad that people forgot the real meaning of the 1st of May. Making it worst, people connect 1st of May with the former Russian regime and similar to the Russian’s regimes forgetting that the first ones to sacrifice their lives for us to have eight hours working days, insurance and a covered health systems were the workers in Chicago back in 1886.

Oddly enough the last few decades, people were demonstrating on 1st of May asking for more rights and solution, better health system, measures for the unemployment, better work conditions, better contracts. Nowadays and in the middle of the financial globalization where the workers are losing everything they fought for the last few years, it seems that nobody bothers to do or say anything.

Does anybody know that this is a day off in memory of these people who died in Chicago at 1886? Is not another bank holiday, another chance to drink all day long!!!

Iranian military Viagra

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

viagra.jpgWhenever you see a middle-aged man driving a sports car you immediately think he is compensating for a lack of groin power.

The same thought occurred to me today while watching the military parade in Iran to commemorate Army Day. Missile carriers, armed soldiers, strange men sitting pillion on motorbikes and at least two men with pointy sticks marched by Clown president Mr Ahmadinejad and his lackies - perhaps their wives enjoyed the fruits of this aphrodisiac later.

Clown president Mr Ahmadinejad declared that he wanted peace and security in the region but added the army should be equipped with the latest technology to deter any aggression.

Isn’t that like saying that smoking should be banned and then lighting a cigarette?

An Afghan Christian? Kill him!

Friday, March 24th, 2006

An Afghan Christian? Kill him!In Afghanistan Mr. Rahman is on trial charged with rejecting Islam. He could be executed under Sharia law unless he reconverts.

This is from BBC news and I still wondering, is this “respect” to the others’ religion we heard so often over the last few months from the Muslim countries when the controversy about the Mohamed cartoons was still going on?

I haven’t seen any of these hypocrites, mullahs or whatever else they call the ayatollahs, presidents of Iran or others coming out to protest for freedom and the individual’s right to practice his/her’s own believes - one more thing, in Muslim countries, ‘hers’ don’t exist, women don’t have rights or anything - I didn’t see any of all these ‘multicultural’ idealists saying anything.

I have often said that I’m not religious myself but these things makes you wonder what the hell is going on and how the hell people who are talking about respect to the religion are the same ones who can execute somebody just because he/she makes the decision to follow a different religion.

Iran? You’re having a laugh!

Friday, March 3rd, 2006

So, last-minute talks between Iran and EU nations over Tehran’s nuclear programme have broken up without agreement. Are we surprised?

The discussions were called by Iran in a final bid to avoid possible UN action over its nuclear programme. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN’s nuclear watchdog, will decide on Monday if action is needed. Meanwhile, Iran’s clown president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has accused the IAEA of being politically motivated and influenced by Western powers. Yeah, yeah!
Iran made the ‘final bid’ to avoid UN action, but it yielded no result. Is it us or does Iran look like they have something to hide?

Russia flexes muscles

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

muscles.jpgRussia is reinforcing its military capability in Finland’s backyard. Experts point to recent energy disputes with neighbours as a Russian attempt to rebuild its sphere of influence. Jan Leijonhielm, Strategic Researcher at the Swedish Defence Research Agency in Stockhom says a more autocratic Moscow under the reigns of its security organisation wants to regain its political strength.

“Russia lost its buffer zone following the collapse of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact,” Leijonhielm adds. “A new security zone is being created- first in the former south and the militant Islamic areas. Now signs of this taking place close to Finland are also evident.”

Lucky Finland has a terrifying deterrent in the form of mines along its borders, huh!

Britain’s biggest banknotes robbery

Friday, February 24th, 2006

An armed gang has stolen 40 million pounds in Britain’s biggest ever cash robbery. The raid was on a security depot in south-east England. The gang, posing as police officers, kidnapped the manager and his family before escaping.

The depot handles cash from thousands of shops.

The gang spent over an hour loading vaults of cash into a truck.

Andy Stenton reports

SOUNDBITE: Police Superintendent Paul Gladstone saying (English):
“At least six men, some of whom were armed, tied up the staff on duty at the premises and then loaded a substantial amount of money into a lorry”.”

Source: REUTERS

They offer two million pounds to those who can give information about the robbers.

Isn’t two million a bit…too small? Ha! No seriously…It’s like if I knew where to find these robbers, I’d really try to ask them first what they’d offer me so I don’t tell the police, and - when we are talking about 40 MILLION! - I think what the police offers is a joke! The money is LOST, GONE, ADIOS! And that means 40 million is gone, not two million!

And if they can’t find the 40 million without help, why should that “help” only get two? I’d say at least 10-20% but well…there are people that prefer losing 40 million instead of sharing it with somebody and get back a part of the cake!

Mother F. Mary

Holy S. MaryCatholics protested outside a New Zealand TV station during its broadcast of a controversial South Park episode. Source: ReutersWhat can I say, other than another FUCK YOU! South Park is a cartoon show that has been on-air for many years and NOW you start protesting? I mean look at what is written on the board in the picture, it says MOTHER MARY FORGIVE THEM!

I’m pretty sure she will, but do you think it’s in her interest after forgiveness to go on the streets and protest?

Anyway, don’t these people have ANYTHING better to do? If they don’t like the show then THEY should switch of the TV. Besides, whoever stays on channels showing cartoons like South Park must really have nothing better to do with their life! GET A LIFE!

Jailed for free speech

Tuesday, February 21st, 2006

Free SpeachHolocaust denier jailed for three years.

A British historian has been jailed for three years for denying millions of Jews died in World War Two.
Source:Reuters

I have only seen the short story on Reuters but, from what I know, this guy is being jailed for denying the Holocaust!

I just don’t get it, the western world is angry at Muslims because they can’t draw their god and practice “free speech” and this guy does the same and he gets punished! Isn’t it his right to think whatever he wants? And even if he wrote books, taught people or did anything about the Holocaust being a fake, it’s his right!

I mean, I don’t think Osama Bin Laden is the reason why the World Trade Center was attacked, I even think it’s Bush and his friends, but do I have to go to jail because I believe something else as what is being fed to me?

(PS: Bush administration makes multi BILLION dollar deal giving control of six US ports to an Arab company)

And why jail for somebod’s beliefs? He doesn’t do harm to anybody and the Jews that feel insulted by his speeches know now how the Arab world felt when publishing those cartoons.. .but it doesn’t change the fact that this guy will have to share his soap with other free speech criminals for the next 3 years in a Austrian cave!

God!

Breaking news…in your dreams

angry_mob1.jpgFollowing the bounty placed upon the head of Danish cartoonists responsible for drawing  creative cartoons of Allah, the Muslim world is up-in-arms once again.
“It’s murder and murder is also forbidden by the Koran,” yelled one Muslim, while another chipped in, “Islam is a religion of peace, mercy and forgiveness. That is why it is my opinion, and also the opinion of many Muslims, that this bounty is un-Islamic!”
Anger at the bounty has spread quickly through the Muslim world and protests have begun in many countries at this horrific act in the name of Allah…

YEAH RIGHT!

Muslim Hackers

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

hackHackers have broken into about 600 Danish Web sites to post threats and protest against satirical cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad, an Internet monitoring group said Wednesday.

“Danish, you’r D3ad,” one page said.

The graffiti had been added to a Web site run by photographer Thomas Jorgensen and included a photo of a mannequin painted to resemble the Danish flag and hung from its neck.

Islam: Feel the love

Saturday, February 18th, 2006

danishflag.jpgA Pakistani Muslim cleric and his followers offered rewards amounting to over $1 million for anyone who killed Danish cartoonists who drew caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad that have enraged Muslims worldwide. The cleric offered the bounty during Friday prayers as Muslim anger against the cartoons flared anew in parts of Asia.

Anybody going to offer $1 million for anyone who points out the word ‘forgiveness’, ‘love’ or ‘hypocrital ****’ in the Koran?

Eur-out of order

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

eu_islam.jpgIt was reassuring to hear that Members of the European Parliament have condemned the violent protests in Europe following the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. They expressed solidarity with Denmark, saying an attack on one EU country was an attack on all.

MEPs strongly rejected the idea that a clash of civilisations was at the root of the uproar, but called for dialogue. Several speakers in the debate also called for press to exercise its freedom with responsibility.

Speaking on behalf of the main centre-left group, Danish MEP Poul Nyrup Rasmussen said Europe had learned the values of peaceful co-existence the hard way. “We say no to those who claim it is us against them,” he said. But he criticised Islamic extremists who had, he said, used the cartoons to create new myths and inflame violence.

Solidarity, but calling for dialogue. Not solidarity and inciting violence. Maybe civilisation can teach religion a few lessons…
