Artistic Flowers

No, this man is not crazy and I did not exactly search for him. When using Google images and searching for “ARTISTIC FLOWERS” (click) you will find a website that really shocked me! Now it’s nothing sexual, no pornography or hardcore old people showing their ass… it’s just I think a English Nudist that like to do everything NAKED! Even cooking! And I’m not sure how much pleasure that can be when having hot oil spitting all over you but I guess he enjoys it.

I personally have nothing against this man or any nudist it’s just I don’t think it’s cool to apear in the first top 20 (UPDATE: the first!) of google images when searching for “artistic flowers” because he AINT ANYTHING of it!…

So what do you think? Is being nudist ok? And if yes, should it have limits, like places to go (restaurant?) and websites to show up in? Do you mind seeing this guy naked in the OVI-Blog? Any Comments are welcomed :)

Game, set, no match

tennis.jpgWimbledon is the only Grand Slam tournament that pays the men’s champion more than the women’s winner and the All England Club are being criticised for this decision.

“It just doesn’t seem right to us that the lady players could play in three events and could take away significantly more than the men’s champion who battles away through these best-of-five matches,” All England Club chairman Tim Phillips said. “We don’t see it as an equal rights issue.”

The WTA Tour, which has lobbied for equal pay for years, expressed disappointment that Wimbledon “continues to promote inequality in pay across the board between men and women.” The men’s winner will receive $1.170 million and the women’s champion $1.117 million, a difference of $53,000.

If that translated into the office space, how long would it be before men complained they were working five hours a day, while the women are paid the same for three?

“I’m Big in the Bumdestag”

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

bum.jpgThis unflattering picture of German Chancellor Angela Merkel in a British newspaper has sparked a backlash from the German government and media. The Sun printed photos of Mrs Merkel on holiday taken from behind while changing into her bathing costume. The Sun printed the photos under one of its trademark puns: “I’m Big in the Bumdestag”.

This makes the Mohammed cartoons pale in comparison, but the first question that everybody has got to be asking: Why?

Why the world needed to see Merkel’s naked rear end we will never know? Thankfully The Sun never found topless pics of Mrs Thatcher?

Iranian military Viagra

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

viagra.jpgWhenever you see a middle-aged man driving a sports car you immediately think he is compensating for a lack of groin power.

The same thought occurred to me today while watching the military parade in Iran to commemorate Army Day. Missile carriers, armed soldiers, strange men sitting pillion on motorbikes and at least two men with pointy sticks marched by Clown president Mr Ahmadinejad and his lackies - perhaps their wives enjoyed the fruits of this aphrodisiac later.

Clown president Mr Ahmadinejad declared that he wanted peace and security in the region but added the army should be equipped with the latest technology to deter any aggression.

Isn’t that like saying that smoking should be banned and then lighting a cigarette?

Prince of Mona-snow

pole.jpgMonaco’s Prince Albert has reached the North Pole on his four-day expedition to highlight global warming. The prince left a base in Russia on Thursday with seven others in the dog-sled expedition. He planted a flag of Monaco and one of the International Olympic Committee, of which he is a member.

The prince said: “We must try to find solutions [to global warming], with scientists obviously, but at the individual level.”

How long it will be until the Arctic has the same climate as Monaco is one of the positive aspects of seeing more high profile individuals campaigning for change, but it will take more than the head of a principality trekking to the top of the earth.

Maybe next we should send Bush and Blair into space on a fact-finding mission.

Tille and Melle

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

tille.jpgHis only comfort is six shots of morphine a day and a toy giraffe named Melle, but Tille, a six-month-old Swedish boy, has captured the hearts of people around the world.

Tille is suffering from a very rare disease that always leads to death in babies and those of us who have been caught up in his story helplessly wait for him to die at any moment.

Doctors have said many times that the end is near, yet, against all odds, he continues to fight day after day, living on air and love. During the last two months, he has lost more than half of his weight and now he does not eat and barely has water.

The disease is called Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) and he has Epidermolysis Bullosa Herlitz lethal, the worst kind. Babies with Herlitz have approximately 6-8 months to live and no child in Sweden has lived to see their second birthday.

A couple of weeks after his birth last September big blisters appeared on his face that later became sore wounds. A couple of months later EB was diagnosed; almost two babies are diagnosed with EB every year in Sweden.

His mum, Therese Vesterlund, and dad, Nicklas Svensson, don’t want to let his pain go on any further and have chosen not to put him on a life support machine. They want him to die at home, in peace. They have told him that it is ok to let go, they are ready. For them it would be a relief to find him dead in the morning; it wouldn’t be nice for them, but for Tille.

The whole of Sweden is following Tille and the family are getting loads of mail, letters and presents from Finland, Norway, Germany, the USA and more. Thousands have read his mum’s online diary, which she started writing after the diagnosis in an attempt to work with her feelings. At the same time, she started a discussion forum about children with deadly diseases and the response became enormous.

There’s a Tille-foundation that collects money for research.

Visit Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet for more.

UPDATE: Tille passed away on Saturday 16th. Ovi sends our heartfelt condolences to all of Tille’s family in this time of sadness.

A puppet president, nuclear power and Allah

Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

Iran nuclear“Mr. Ahmadinejad called on the nation’s scientists to press ahead with “industrial-scale enrichment” and urged the West to respect what he called Iran’s right to peaceful atomic technology.

His audience broke into cheers and chants of “Allahu akbar” (God is great).”

Ok let me understand this better. When some cartoonists made cartoons with Mohamed the whole Arab world rebelled burning flags and threatening lives. When a caricature puppet president in a theocratic dictatorship announces that his country became nuclear power, demands ‘respect’ from the west for the very same reason and has already threaten to make a whole nation to disappear is what? How you call that and what can you do?

Let’s see what the usual suspects, the parasites crypto-supporters of the Iranian regime in the name of the multiculturalism and members of environmental movements will say. Oh, I know, is for ‘peaceful’ reasons!!!

“…urged the West to respect Iran’s right to peaceful atomic technology…” Since when a nuclear factory became a phallic symbol? These people have serious issues or …small issues!!!

“Allahu akbar…” Let’s hope that Allah is great and he will help us from his followers because they are his worst enemies!!!

Seal Hunt Activists & Reuters Reporters Arrested

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

27/03/2006 09:49  - (SA)

Ottawa - A group of animal rights activists observing Canada’s annual harp seal hunt were arrested on Sunday for getting too close to hunters killing the animals off the eastern coast, officials said.

The six activists belong to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), which says the hunt is cruel and should be scrapped. This year, about 325 000 young seals will be shot and clubbed to death on ice floes, mainly for their pelts.

In addition to six activists, a freelance cameraman working for Reuters Television was detained. They were on board a small craft near the Magdalen Islands in the Gulf of St Lawrence, and they broke the law by coming within 10m of the hunters, officials said. They were later all released.

“We’ll investigate, get statements and then decide whether to charge them,” said Roger Simon of the federal fisheries and oceans ministry, which is overseeing a hunt which started on Saturday.
NEWS24.com …

If you read further on news24, you will find this:

“Unseasonably warm weather means the ice is much more broken up than usual, forcing hunters to shoot seals one by one rather than clubbing them en masse on the floes. ”

- Now I think the Ice being so thin and being a danger to people is a good reason not to let too many seal hunters on ice, but to force the press and activists to stay away 10m from seal hunters, I can’t imagine it’s for their safety since a seal weights some hundred kilos, doesn’t it?

“Rebecca Aldworth of the HSUS told Reuters by satellite phone that angry hunters had also thrown seal flippers and carcasses at the activists. She said she would ask Canadian police to charge those responsible.”

- Now I guess who really should get a 10m limitation should be the seal hunters to the reporters and activists.. seems when they are in a blood rage that they can’t difference a seal from a human anymore :)

“Celebrities such as former French film star Brigitte Bardot and ex-Beatle Paul McCartney last week pleaded with Ottawa to end the hunt.”

- Haha.. Even if Jesus Christ himself apeared to ask for a favor.. who the fuck cares anymore?

“Canadian officials deny the hunt is inhumane and say it provides a boost to the local economy while keeping a harp seal population of over five million in check.”

- WOW, now that’s a number! 5 Million Pelts waiting to be killed as they grow… I wonder how fast these seals can multiply themselves and also I’d like to know… what IF they could not breed as fast as they are being killed.. would there be enough reasons to kill the last seal because there are so many people depending on their FUR ?
